Spring at Dakin Farm
A Vermont Family Tradition

Sam Cutting Sr. boiling maple sap into syrup in our sugar house. This year marks his 48th year of overseeing maple quality at Dakin Farm!
Ferrisburgh Vermont…During the peak of the maple season here in Vermont (March 15, 16, 22, 29 & 30 this year) we host our annually delicious and topped-with-fun Sugar on Snow parties. The morning begins with a pancake breakfast: fresh new-crop maple syrup is poured over griddle cooked, light fluffy pancakes and all the cob smoked bacon and fresh maple sausage everyone can eat. At noon we switch over to our Sugar on Snow parties with live bluegrass music playing right in the Sugar House while noted maple expert “guest boilers” join our own family in explaining the maple sugaring process and our Vermont maple heritage. During the afternoon, we serve “Sausage Hoagies cooked in maple sap, maple baked beans, sausage chili, Sugar on Snow and New Syrup poured over ice cream. These two fun filled weekends mark the beginning of Spring in Vermont- something many Vermonters and visitors alike look forward to. If you are ever in our area during the Sugaring Season, we hope you will stop by for a visit.
So far, this season we’ve produced an excellent crop of high quality, superbly flavored Pure Vermont Maple Syrup. The best thing about the new crop is the taste! When the syrup is first made, it definitely has a special “fresh and full” flavor. At Dakin Farm, we are in a position to ship some of this special “New Crop” syrup to you with-in days of when it was made, no matter where you live.
So, please visit us during sugaring season if you can. If not, we would be delighted to send the flavor of the season, direct from the Green Mountains of Vermont to your home no matter where you live.
Best Wishes and Happy Spring!
Sincerely,
Sam Cutting
